Local Nurse Named Nurse of the Year
Elizabeth (Liz) Wern, Registered Nurse at Brooksville Regional Hospital, has been named Health Management Associates (HMA) Corporate Nurse of the Year for Division 3. This division is comprised of 11 hospitals in Florida and Georgia, employing over 2500 nurses. 
Gary D. Newsome, President and Chief Executive Officer, HMA will present this award to Ms. Wern at a special corporate meeting in Orlando next month.
Liz began her career as a staff nurse working in the Intensive Care Unit at Brooksville Regional Hospital in 2005. She was designated as a preceptor for the unit and was promoted to Charge Nurse in 2008.
“Liz exemplifies the mission and values of Health Management Associates”, said Corey Lively, Chief Executive Officer of Brooksville Regional Hospital. “She has outstanding compassion and clinical skills. Liz genuinely cares about her patients and recognizes the impact that she can have on patient’s lives”.
Criteria considered for this award includes outstanding patient care and customer service as well as dedication to serving the community.
